Command Sergeant Major Sean J. Rice assumed responsibility as the 13th Quartermaster Regimental Command Sergeant Major on 30 April 2017 and entered into the United States Army 8 July 1988 from Aurora, Colorado.
CSM Rice began his military journey as a 76Y at Ft. Jackson SC, Unit Supply Specialists. He has since held numerous assignments as a logistician from Supply Specialist and Unit Armor, HHC 1/503 Inf, Camp Hovey, Korea, Bn S4 NCO, 1/4 Cavalry, Ft. Riley, KS, Supply Sergeant and Bn S4 NCOIC, 27th Transportation Bn, BENELUX and Northern Germany, Bravo Co Supply Sergeant and later Bn S4 NCOIC, 1/41 FA, Ft. Stewart, GA, Drill Sergeant, B Co 3/47 Infantry Regiment, Ft. Benning, GA, DET 1SG TF- 556, CJTF-76, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Special Operations Training Detachment (SOTD) Logistic Observer Coach/Trainer (OC/T), Ft. Polk, LA, Logistic Planner and Headquarters Commandant 1SG, Special Operation Command Pacific (SOCPAC), Camp Smith Hawaii, Brigade S3 Sergeant Major, 82nd Sustainment Brigade, Ft. Bragg, NC, HHBN Command Sergeant Major, United States Army Europe (USAREUR), Brigade Command Sergeant Major, 916th Support Brigade, National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, CA, and most recently as the Capabilities, Development, and Integration Directorate (CDID) Sergeant Major, CASCOM, Ft. Lee, Va.
CSM Rice has continued to further both his military and civilian education as well as training. In doing so he’s completed the Basic Airborne School, Air Assault School, and Drill Sergeant School. Additionally, CSM Rice is a graduate of all Non-Commissioned Officer Educational Schools (NCOES) Schools to include the Battle Staff Course, First Sergeant Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Unit, Theater Logistics Planners Course, culminating with the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 60. CSM Rice holds an Associate’s Degree in Business and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Troy University, and a Masters of Information Technology Management from Trident University.
Command Sergeant Major Rice has been awarded various awards and decorations that include the German Physical Proficiency Badge, Thailand Foreign Parachutist Badge, Polish Foreign Parachutist Badge, the Prestigious Order’s of Saint Martin, Saint Maurice, and is an active member of the Distinguished Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
