43rd Quartermaster Commandant - MG Robert K. GuestHis military career began in June 1963 when he received his commission as a Second Lieutenant, Infantry, from North Georgia College where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Georgia.

His military education includes the Petroleum Officer Course, Quartermaster Officer Advanced Course, Parachute Riggers Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and Naval War College.

General Guest has held variety of significant command and staff positions culminating in his current assignment as the Commander, U.S. Army Quartermaster Center and School. Other key assignments include: Commander, 1st Supply and Transportation Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas; Commander, Division Support Command, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Deputy Commander, 21st Theater Army Area Command, Federal Republic of Germany, deployed to Southwest Asia with 3d U.S. Army for Operation Desert Shield and during Operation Desert Storm was attached to 18th Airborne Corps; Commander, 3d Corps Support Command, Wiesbaden, Germany; and Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics, United States Army Europe and 7th Army.

General Guest's other assignments include: two tours in Vietnam as the operations officer of the 64th Quartermaster Battalion (POL OPNS) and as an advisor in the Mekong Delta and a tour in Laos as the Chief of Procurement for the U.S. mission. He served as the S-3 (Operations), Division Support Command, and the Executive Officer, 4th Supply and Transportation Battalion, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Carson, Colorado; Assistant Chief of Staff/G-4, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas; Chief, Supply and Maintenance Policy Division, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Washington, DC; and Director of Logistics Management, United States Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.

From June 1996 through August 1997, he served as the Commander, Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Gregg-Adams Virginia. He retired in 1997.

His awards and decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Bronze star Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal, Army Master Parachutists Badge, Parachutist Rigger Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Army Staff Identification Badge. Additionally, he also has been awarded Foreign Parachutists Badges from Australia, Brazil, and Germany.

General Guest was inducted as a Distinguished Member of the Quartermaster Regiment in 1991 (Charter Year).
