Chief of Staff, LTC Barry WhiteIn May 2005, LTC Barry J. White was commissioned into the U.S. Army through the ROTC program at the Virginia Polytechnic and State University (Blacksburg, Virginia). Entering military service from his hometown of Charles City, VA, LTC White has served throughout the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense in a variety of leadership and staff assignments to include six tours of duty outside of the contiguous United States. LTC White currently serves as Assistant Commandant for the United State Army Quartermaster School (Fort Gregg-Adams, VA).

Key staff and leader assignments include Commander, 840th Transportation Battalion (SDDC), Kuwait Capability Developer, Sustainment Capability Development & Integration Directorate, Army Futures Command (Fort Gregg-Adams, VA); Airlift Plans / Short Notice Air Refueling Branch Chief, 618th Air Operations Center (Scott AFB, IL); Brigade S3 / Mobility Officer, 2nd Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade (Camp Humphreys, South Korea); Battalion S3 / Executive Officer, 831st Transportation Battalion, 595th Transportation Brigade, (Manama, Bahrain); Logistics Advisor to the Afghanistan National Army Special Operations Command (Forward); Operations Officer, 689th Rapid Port Opening Element (Fort Eustis, VA); Plans Officer, 82nd Sustainment Brigade (Fort Liberty, NC); Deputy Support Operations Officer 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (Forward); Headquarters Detachment Commander, 264th CSSB (Fort Liberty, NC); Distribution Platoon Leader, A CO, 82nd Brigade Support Battalion (Fort Liberty, NC); Maintenance Control Officer / XO, E CO Forward Support Company, 1-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division, (Fort Liberty, NC). LTC White has three deployments in support of combat operations across the globe; Operation Iraqi Freedom (August 2006 — November 2007), Operation Iraqi Freedom (April 2009 — April 2010) and Operation Enduring Freedom (October 2014 — July 2015).

LTC White completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Polytechnic and State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering w/ a minor in leadership as part of the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets and holds a Master of Arts — Strategic Studies from American Military University. He graduated from the Transportation Officers Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, and Command and General Staff College. His military education includes Military Transition Team Training, Special Operations Component Command Planners Course, Joint Humanitarian Officer Course, and the Joint Logistics Course.

LTC White's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and Army Parachutist Badge. LTC White is also a recipient of the Transportation Corp’s Order of Saint Christopher award. His unit awards include the Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 OLC).
