Chief Warrant Officer Five Wade H. Lovorn III is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii. He joined the Army in 1981, attending Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ, immediately followed by training at Fort Rucker, AL, in the Initial Entry Rotary Wing (IERW) Aviation Course and Aero Scout Track. He earned his Pilot Wings and was sent to Panama as a Utility Helicopter Pilot for his first assignment. He was reclassified in 1984 into the Quartermaster Corps where he has since been serving as a Supply Systems Technician meeting the needs of the Army. Prior to assuming his duties as the 12th Quartermaster Regimental Chief Warrant Officer, he served as the Chief Warrant Officer Advisor to the Commander, Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, KS, and Chairman of the Senior Warrant Officer Advisory Council, reporting directly to the Vice Chief of Staff, Army.
CW5 Lovorn has served in a myriad of positions throughout his career to include: Utility Helicopter Pilot, 193rd Infantry Brigade, Panama; Support Supply Technician, 169th Maintenance Battalion, 13th Corps Support Command (COSCOM), Fort Hood, TX; Repair Parts Technician 47th Forward Support Battalion and 123rd Main Support Battalion, and Class IX Manager, Division Materiel Management Center (DMMC), 1st Armored Division, Germany; Accountable Officer, DMMC, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, TX; Logistics Advisor to the Egyptian Air Force, US Embassy Egypt; System Administrator, Corps/Theater ADP Service Center (CTASC), 4th Corps Materiel Management Center (CMMC), 13th COSCOM, Fort Hood, TX; Combat Developer, Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Gregg-Adams, VA; Logistics Automation Branch Chief, CTASC, 4th CMMC, 13th Support Command (Expeditionary), Fort Hood, TX and Division Chief, CTASC, US Army Materiel Command, Logistics Support Activity, Redstone Arsenal, AL. CW5 Lovorn has deployed in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
His military schooling includes the Warrant Officer Candidate Development Course, IERW Aviation Course, Supply and Services Management Officer Course, Warrant Officer Aviation and Quartermaster Advance Courses, Warrant Officer Staff Course, the Army's Force Management Course, and Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course. He also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from the State University of New York.
CW5 Lovorn's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star (oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (nine oak leaf clusters),Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (oak leaf cluster), National Defense Service Medal (bronze star), Southwest Asia Service Medal (two bronze stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), and the Army Aviator Badge. CW5 Lovorn is also a Distinguished Member of the QM Regiment and a recipient of the Leavenworth Lamp from the U.S. Army's Command and General Staff College.
