Travis C. Hunter, Sr.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Hunter was drafted in January 1965 and served 32 years in the Quartermaster Corps, retiring in November 1997. He also served 10 years as a Department of the Army Civilian, Supervisory Supply Management Specialist, Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill Oklahoma.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Hunter is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in CU Chi with the 116th Aviation Company, 269th Aviation Battalion. His assignments include; 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 2ID Korea; Installation Support Test Group, Fort Ord/Hunter-Liggett, California; 38th Transportation Group, 53rd Transportation Battalion, Kaiserslautern, Germany; Headquarters Army Garrison, Fort Sam Houston, TX; 2nd Battalion 37th FA, in Germany; Supply Sergeant for the 108th MP Company, 503rd Battalion, Fort Bragg, NC.; 24th Infantry Division, Division Materiel Management Center, Garlstedt, Germany; 11th Transportation Battalion, 2ID DIVARTY, Korea and 3rd Battalion 18th Field Artillery, Fort Sill, OK.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Hunter’s most notable achievement was his assignment to the Army Logistical Operational Task Force to evaluate hand tool accountability. His efforts resulted in the Army establishing the new accountability code of "Durable" and delegating authorization responsibilities to a lower command level.
Chief Warrant Officer 4 Hunter’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon (6th Award), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
